Varsity Wrestling · Bees Wrestling Selected No. 22 in National Rankings, Three Wrestlers Ranked Individually

The defending Suburban League/National Conference Champions and Team Dual Final Four Brecksville-Broadview Heights wrestling team will open the 2019-20 season at Walsh Jesuit’s Ironman Invitational the weekend of December 13-14th.  The team will start the season ranked as the No. 22 high school team in America.

This year’s team features three nationally ranked wrestlers:  No. 1 Victor Voinovich (145 lbs.), No. 16 Ben Vanadia (182 lbs.), and No. 5 Ethan Hatcher (220 lbs.).  Ethan Hatcher recently committed to Cornell University to continue his academic and wrestling career at the collegiate level.

The Bees 2019-2020 schedule features elite competition at the Beast of the East tournament at the University of Delaware from December 21-22 before the team returns home to host the 59th Annual Brecksville Holiday Tournament on December 29-30, one of the longest running high school tournaments in the nation.  The Bees will also travel to Firestone High School to compete in the Bill Dies Memorial Tournament and then will return home on Thursday, January 23 for Beauty and the Beast/Senior Night.

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School will host the OHSAA Team Duals Regional Meet on Saturday, February 8, 2020 as well as the OHSAA Individual Sectional Tournament on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

The OHSAA Dual Team State Tournament will take place on February 16, 2020 and the OHSAA Individual State Tournament will be on March 13-15, 2020 at the Schottenstein Center.
